Principal's Message

Dear Audubon Middle School Community,

It is an honor and a privilege to serve as principal at a school whose culture is focused on student learning with a commitment to high expectations, collaboration, and supporting innovative ideas that will prepare our students for the rigorous demands of high school, college, and beyond so that they are able to compete globally. As Audubon’s instructional leader, it is my goal to cultivate the traditions of the school, while embracing its rich diversity

My career in education began 25 years ago as a teacher’s assistant working with students receiving special education services. In addition, I have been a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and an assistant principal at the middle school level. I believe that creating a safe learning environment, establishing a culture focused on student achievement, promoting the professional growth of the staff, and encouraging parental and community participation in school activities will assist students in becoming self-empowered, life-long learners.

It is my goal to support a structured and productive educational environment where students feel empowered take risks, explain their thinking, and share their ideas around their learning. To do this, I am committed to having a highly effective and collaborative staff that knows how to spark the curiosity for learning in the minds of their students and then use that curiosity to guide their instruction.

I look forward to this being an extraordinary year. As a newly identified Community School, we will be able to offer additional academic and enrichment opportunities for all students through our enhanced relationships with our community partners. Together, I know that we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all students.

Sincerely,

Deanna Hardemion
