On Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Audubon Middle School and Gifted Magnet will be celebrating 90 years of educating students in the Leimert Park community and surround communities with celebrity Audubon Alumni such as Brandon Mebane (LA Chargers), Curren Price (Councilman), Arron Arnell “Bobo” Johnson (KJLH) and more.

October is designated as College Awareness Month throughout LAUSD. At Audubon, we remain dedicated to academic excellence and success. Several activities and events will take place the month of October. Audubon Eagles are college bound! Students may wear college t-shirts on Fridays, with their uniform pants.

The heart is responsible for sustaining all of the other organs in the body, so it is important that it be kept in good health. The lack of attention paid to one of the most important organs of the body can lead to heart disease or other health problems.

The act of giving blood is one of the most noble things you can do to help others, simply for the fact that you are creating a lifeline for people in need. Encourage the people in your community to get involved with this important awareness initiative by distributing blood donation giveaways.

The "More than a Meal" program provides children with healthy meals for free or reduced prices. Meal applications are always accepted by the Food Services Division however; the State requests our student counts for low-income, foster and English Learners by October 29, 2019.

All parents and guardians are invited to the 2019-2020 SSC/ELAC Election Meeting is on Monday, September 23 at 4:00 pm in the Library. Come and find out what SSC is all about!

Audubon Middle School has officially been named as one of America's Healthiest Schools - 2019 and has been awarded a Bronze Level Certification. The official list of America's Healthiest Schools -2019 will be published on September 16, 2019 in the following media outlets: USA Today, Huffington Post, Women's Day and more.

The LA Sentinel recently interviewed 12 Audubon Middle School alumni that are employees of LAUSD and service Audubon Middle School and Magnet Center. These staff members have chosen to give back to AMS students and their community in positions such as teachers, counselors, assistant plant managers, special education assistants, and office technicians.

To create a healthy school environment where the healthy choice is the easy choice, the District has developed a Blueprint for Wellness Policy that serves as the LAUSD’s wellness policy and guide for implementing a comprehensive health and wellness plan. Knowing that schools play a critical role in promoting student health and wellness, this blueprint will assist schools and the District in implementing a comprehensive wellness plan for students, families, and staff.
