The JPL field trip was amazing. The tourguides talked to the students about the history of Caltech and JPL as well as each of the satellites, probes, and rovers that JPL has deployed. The students then got to see lifesize models of each of JPLu2019s probes and rovers.. The most exciting part of the tour is when the students got to observe the clean assembly room where the saw actual engineers in the u201Cbunny suitsu201D work on JPLu2019s next project which is to deploy communication lasers to the international space station. The students then got to enter the observation deck of mission control where they saw actual scientists prep for the landing of Curiousity which is to happen in about 60 days. The students were all enthralled by the tour and excited about the paid internship progam, something they can look forward to when they turn 16.
